Welcome to the Panther Family! We're excited you've chosen FIU for dual enrollment. You have a few options to consider, so follow the instructions below to get started.

At High School Program

  • Public/Private/Charter School

    Start Your Application

    • "At High School" Application New/Returning Students must complete online application. (If you have been out for three or more consecutive semesters complete a new application).  
    • Create a user name and password to complete application. 
    • You will be given a Panther ID number once you submit your application
    • Submit the signed Parent Consent Form to your high school instructor 

    You are done! Students will receive communication from high school instructors with further instructions.

    If you forget your Panther ID or other login information, recover it at login.fiu.edu by clicking "Need Help?” Learn more about the account recovery process.

On FIU Campus Program - Part Time

  • Public/Private/Charter School Student

    1. Start Your Application

    New Students:

    • Apply Now
    • Create a user name and password to complete application
    • You will be given a Panther ID number once you submit your application

    Students that need to schedule common placement test must contact the dualenro@fiu.edu prior to scheduling test. 

    Returning Students:

    • Complete Step 2-3
    • If you have been out for 3 or more consecutive semesters complete a new application

     

    2. Complete Required Forms

    • Dual Enrollment Authorization Form - Must be completed each semester.  Use Class Search to find available classes to list on the Dual Enrollment Authorization Form.
    • Immunization Document Forms - All first-time applicant submit Immunization forms. View forms on Student Health Services website. select FIU Immunization Documentation Form on site for instructions.

     

    3. Submit Forms

    Students:

    • Email Dual Enrollment Authorization Form to school counselor for approval.  
    • Immunization Records need to be email or faxed to Student Health Services. FIU requires all students (non-degree seeking included) comply with the immunization policy regulations from the Florida Board of Governors. Not submitting forms can result in a "Hold".

     

    DE Coordinator/Administrator:

    • DE Coordinator/Administrator must upload Dual Enrollment Authorization Form to DE SharePoint validating students initial eligibility or continued eligibility to enroll in DE courses, and approval of courses listed.  Students may only register for courses listed and approved on the Dual Enrollment Authorization Form.  New Schools email dualenro@fiu.edu for access to DE SharePoint.

     

  • Home Education Student

    1. Start Your Application

    New Students:

    • Apply Now
    • Create a user name and password to complete application.
    • You will be given a Panther ID number once you submit your application

    Returning Students:

  • Register for Classes

    Register for Classes

    This step can only be completed after required documents have been submitted by DE Coordinator/Administrator and/or Home School Parent/Guardian to FIU. Students may only register for courses listed and approved on the Dual Enrollment Authorization Form submitted during the DE Application and Document submission dates. 

    Visit OneStop for guidelines How to Add Classes on their website. Everything can be completed through your MyFIU account and OneStop is there to help you.  Additional instructions will be emailed to students.

Early Admission Program - Full Time

    Returning Students not participating in the DE program for 3 or more consecutive semesters, must complete application.


    2. Request an Interview

    To be considered for an interview, students must email required documents, together in one email submission, to dualenro@fiu.edu  

    Required Documents

    • Official High School Academic transcript
    • SAT or ACT Test scores
    • Recommendation Letter from School Guidance Counselor or Principal
    • Home education student must also provide proof of enrollment in home education program and be registered with M-DCPS, Broward or Monroe County Home School Office

     

    Email Subject line must read: Early Admission Applicant (Student Name) 

    Note: Indicate campus of preferrance, Modesto Maidique Campus, MMC or Biscayne Bay Campus, BBC when rquesting interview. 

    Students that meet eligibility requirement will be invited for an interview.  

Things You Should Know

  • Canvas/FIU Email/Panther ID Recovery

    What is Canvas?  Canvas is a Learning Management System offered by FIU to support online and web-assisted istruction.  As a student, you will be provided access to your course materials and the necessary tools to collaborate and communicate with your classmates, and instructors.  Join FIU Canvas and Zoom student training sessions to answer your questions. 

    FIU Email  You will have access to a personal FIU email account powered by Google. To view your email address, log in to myFIU, select the Profile tile, then Contact Details. Visit Panther Mail to access your email.

  • Grades

    I am currently a dual enrollment student, do I qualify to opt-in for the P/NC grade? 

    No, a letter grade must be assigned to coursework conducted by FIU dual enrollment for on-and off-campus students. This is in alignment with Florida Statute 1007.271, (20), which states:  “A postsecondary institution shall assign letter grades to each student enrolled in a dual enrollment course. The letter grade assigned by the postsecondary institution shall be posted to the student’s high school transcript by the school district.”  FIU defines letter grades as “A” to “F” and, as such, the dual enrollment program will be exempt from the Spring 2020 two alternative grading options (i.e., Pass [“P”] and No Credit Earned [“NC”]

  • Fees & Other Educational Expenses
    • Photo ID fee - All first-time registered students are required to have a photo ID. The fee is assessed to all students every academic year.
    • Parking permit - Needed if you will be parking on campus.
    • Transcripts - There is a fee associated with ordering an official transcript from FIU.
